What is going on?

Last week we took Morgin to her soccer practice and the whole ride there she is so excited to go. When we get there we take off her coat and sweatpants and then all hell breaks loose! She refused to go into the little field. We thought it was because her friend Jacob wasn't there yet. When Jacob gets there she runs to him and says Hi and still refuses to go onto the field. So I told her that I was not going to stay and watch other kids play and not her and that we were leaving. After a huge battle to get her coat on I give up and end up carrying her out of the Ultimate Goal without a coat or sweatpants! She cried the whole way home that she wanted to go back to soccer!

So on Wednesday, Eric has a dr appt and we are that and my sister volunteers to take her to swim class. 5 minutes after swim begins my cell phone rings and it is Lyndsey. Morgin is refusing to go swimming!

Any ideas on what is going on with her? She loves swim and soccer- so why isn't she wanting to do it?

Try making it special, have either you or Eric take her and make a night of it. A special outing with one of you. So all attention is on her for a little while. Then take her to dinner after as a treat for being a good girl.

I haven't been a mom very long, but I can tell you that my daughter did the same thing with tumbling when she was that age and T-ball a year later. We never learned exactly why -- she just didn't want to go and I guess in the process was learning to stretch her wings and make her own decisions. ha! But it did end up being only a phase. NYAP
