Yesterday, We took the kids to Lori's house and headed up to a friends dad to try and get a new car. If you are new to the drama we have had with the Pacifica, here is a rundown. We bought the Pacifica in July 2008. I loved the car from first sight and when we test drove I was smitten with the car! We decided to buy it and I was convinced we were going to keep it forever...but as fate would have it, it did not work out that way! Soon after we bought it (like the next day) I got in the car and tried to start and it hesitated and then when I drove it down the road it shuttered. So we got on the phone with the service center. They brought it in and hooked it up the computer and said some code was wrong and that now it should be better....wrong! So we called and brought it back in a few weeks later because school was starting and I was busy and needed the car. This time they replaced the fuel filter..didn't work. Then it was the flex plate in the transmission....didn't work. Then we had to wait for the guy from Chrysler to come and check it out...this took about 2 months to get him here to look at the car...he offered his suggestion of how to fix it and they did it.....it didn't work. In the meantime, Chrysler filed bankruptcy and pretty much told we were shit out of luck! So we tried many times to have the service bring it in again and try and figure it out...they wouldn't even bring it in anymore because honestly it was a waste of their time because they had no idea what was wrong with it.
So we went yesterday and decided to buy a brand new 2009 Kia Optima (yes a car!) It is very nice but it is going to take some getting used to. I feel comfortable while driving it but I am going to miss the room that the Pacifica had but we do have the Nitro. We decided that the car was the best route for us because of Eric's traveling to and from work 2 hours away, and because of gas economy. So here are some pics of the new car! I love the color (which I had a pick of any color I wanted) and it is kinda nice to have a trunk again (to hide Christmas gifts....which I did today). So lets hope that going for a new car we will not have any problems and it we do...it is under warranty. It is a HUGE relief to know that we will more than likely not be stranded on the side of the road some day with 2 kiddos! I know that everything happens for a reason and that we were meant to not have the Pacifica and we were meant to have this car!
