I have been planning for the past month a surprise birthday dinner for Eric. I had to coordinate with his swap partner a day that they were both off and last night worked! I never told Eric anything, until my mom walked in the door at 7 pm and at that point I just told him that we were going out to eat....he had no idea where or what lay ahead of him. Earlier that afternoon, he asked me what I was making for dinner and I told him that I felt like Chinese food and since we usually wait til the kids go to bed before order, it worked out good as my cover! He was super excited that the Jets game was on and that he could watch the Jets game and eat Chinese food (real American? LOL) So My mom comes over to watch the kids and I tell him we are going out to dinner and that there is a shirt at the top of the stairs for him wear. He changed and we were off! I kinda drove around for a bit and then we arrived at our destination: 1025 Ruyi! He still had no idea that there were 7 of our friends waiting inside! Then we walked in and he was shocked! They hooked him up with a crown to wear and he wore the stinking thing ALL night! We had a great time at dinner! He got serenaded by the whole restaurant with the gong and happy birthday and even a complimentary dessert! We had a great time! Then we headed over to Joe's for a few drinks! I am so glad that I actually kept it a secret! It was very hard at times but I managed to keep it to myself! What a great night we had! and Eric got to watch the Jets game dramatic ending!
